Imagine one of these alien behemoths marching their way into your child’s party. These artistic monstrosities, each one taking approximately three days to create, were spawned from the creative mind of New York artist Jason Hackenwerth.
As seen in the pictures, some of the sculptures are large enough to fit over a full-grown adult, with enough room to walk around comfortably. Since the sculptures are made from thousands of normal party balloons, they are lightweight, perfect for basking by the sea, or roaming through a wild jungle.
The 39-year-old New York artist started his balloon-blowing career as a street performer. Overtime, he became more adapt with the balloons, which, assumingly, led to his desire for larger, more challenging artistic endeavors.
The largest structure Hackenwerth built with party balloons was a little over 40 feet long. Some of the structures are so large, in fact, that he must “wrestle†the balloons into position.
Hackenwerth has stated that he orders 5,000 party balloons at a time.
